Crossing the Tees

Man has been crossing the river Tees for centuries. Ferrymen rowed people and good from one side to the other. Romans built a bridge to connect the roads from York to Corbridge, near Hadrians’ Wall.

Now the river Tees has crossing along its length and breadth. Roads, footpaths, pipe bridges, railways and boats of all shapes and sizes now give people the ability to cross the Tees
